American Gods was a small contribution to a much larger production, but it remains one of the projects that continues to inspire me. I was asked to develop several graphic concepts for the series, exploring visual ideas that fit within its unique blend of mythology, symbolism, and contemporary culture.
the challenge
The challenge was creating designs that felt at home in a world where ordinary objects could carry deeper meaning. Even though the scope of the work was limited, it required careful thought about tone, atmosphere, and how graphic design could support the larger themes of the story.
The concepts were ultimately not used in the final production, but that does not diminish their value to me. The process allowed me to experiment, explore new ideas, and contribute to a project whose creative ambition I deeply admired. The work remains some of my favorite design exploration from my time in film and television.
conclusion
Not every project is defined by what appears on screen. Sometimes the value comes from the opportunity to create, learn, and imagine what is possible. American Gods is one of those projects for me. It serves as a reminder to stay curious, keep exploring new ideas, and continue making space for wonder.
