Working on Waco was a challenging experience both creatively and emotionally. The series explored the events surrounding the 1993 siege in Waco, Texas, requiring careful attention to detail and a thoughtful approach to the graphics that helped recreate that time and place.
the challenge
Projects based on real events carry a different responsibility. The graphics needed to feel authentic to the period while supporting the story being told. Research, accuracy, and restraint were essential when creating materials for such a sensitive subject.
This production pushed me outside my comfort zone. It required patience, focus, and the ability to separate the emotional weight of the story from the practical work of creating believable graphics. Completing the project was a reminder of the role design plays in helping tell difficult stories with care.
conclusion
Not every project is easy, and some stories stay with you long after production ends. Waco was one of those experiences for me. It reinforced the importance of approaching every project with professionalism, curiosity, and respect for the story being told.
