Hi, I’m Joel Waldrep — a creative professional with a background in graphic design, art direction, and visual storytelling across film, television, and print media. I’ve developed screen graphics, signage, props, and environmental elements that support the narrative and blend naturally into the world of the project. I work closely with production designers, set decorators, and prop masters to ensure visual clarity, continuity, and authenticity throughout.

As an Assistant Art Director, I support set design, concept development, and creative workflow management—helping guide projects from early sketches through final delivery. My experience includes 3D modeling, prepress, and cross-platform media, with a focus on solving design challenges in fast-paced production environments.

Outside of entertainment, I’ve also worked in general graphic design, including branding, print collateral, layout, and digital content. I enjoy collaborating across departments and industries to build thoughtful, well-crafted design solutions that are both functional and visually cohesive.

I’m a graduate of the University of New Mexico’s School of Fine Arts, and I stay driven by curiosity, storytelling, and a genuine respect for the design process.

Most of my work happens behind the scenes—designing signage for a fictional diner, creating screen graphics for control rooms that don’t exist, or building marketing collateral that feels like it’s always belonged. I like projects that require both imagination and restraint. The kind where design needs to feel invisible but still be undeniably intentional.
