Working on Manhattan gave me the opportunity to create production graphics for a story rooted in history. Every piece needed to feel authentic to the 1940s, supporting a world shaped by science, secrecy, and everyday life during a remarkable moment in time.

the challenge
Period projects are often about research as much as design. Fonts, printing methods, layouts, and materials all needed to reflect the era. The challenge was finding the small details that helped the graphics feel like they belonged to the time without making them feel overdesigned.
One of the things I enjoyed most about this project was the research. Looking through reference materials and studying period design offered a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship of the era. It reinforced the idea that good design often begins with careful observation.

conclusion
Projects like Manhattan remind me that history can be a great teacher. Looking closely at how designers solved problems decades ago continues to influence the way I approach my own work today.
